The Office of Bilingual Education Initiatives at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) hosted the forum“EMI Can Be This Fun! Bilingual Teaching Showcase” Forum & EMI Teaching Skills Enhancement Awards Ceremony on March 31. The event featured faculty representatives from NTUST's six colleges, who shared their innovative teaching practices after participating in a training program at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). The forum also honored 22 outstanding faculty members for their effective contributions to EMI teaching, showcasing NTUST’s diverse achievements and international outlook in promoting EMI and bilingual education.
This forum centered on two main themes: exploring how innovative teaching strategies can enhance student engagement and interaction, and emphasizing professional development and creative teaching approaches among faculty. The first half of the forum focused on “Teaching Strategies and Student Engagement,” while the second half explored “Faculty Development and Innovation,” including the concept of viewing students as "clients" who should be empowered to take ownership of their learning.
